SUCCINCT SUMMARY

Many Rashis focus on an ALIGNMENT of almost similar verses
By examining the minor differences in these verses we can
infer many new nuances.

Traditionally some Rashi-ists such as Dr Leibowitz or Rabbi
Boncheck see Rashi as explaining extra words. In this email
list we do not use the EXTRA WORD rule--instead we use
a similar rule---EXTRA WORDS WHOSE EXTRA-NESS IS SEEN IN
ALIGNMENTS indicates intentional nuances in the text. Thus
we only seek to explain those EXTRA WORDS if they occur in
aligned texts.

EXAMPLE 1

- Gn01-12 Trees with SEEDS IN THEM
RASHI: Grass seeds scattered by wind while tree seeds are sown

EXAMPLE 2

- Gn01-03 Let there be LIGHT

RASHI: RAW Light created on day 1; SOURCES of light created
on subsequent days in creation

EXAMPLE 3

- Gn01-11 Let there be GRASS, TREES BY SPECIES
- Gn01-12 There came forth GRASS BY SPECIES and TREES BY SPECIES
RASHI: The BY SPECIES laws (No incest, bestiality, adultery
etc) is very important and must be complied with even when
not explicitly stated (Hence the grass observed it without
being commanded)

RASHI: To create world we need both
-- the established order (DEITY)
-- new life (GOD)

RASHI: Original intention was that FRUIT and TREE should
resemble each other (Eg taste the same) But the TREES
disobeyed and made fruit (whose taste) didnt resemble trees
