BACKGROUND
----------
The Bible at several points speaks about offering sacrifices
on various types of altars.

THE LIST
--------
We gather all verses on
-- the different altars
-- the different sacrifices offered on them
We can then ascertain WHICH sacrifices went on WHICH altars

SUMMARY
-------
A thorough analysis shows that the bottom line is that there
were 3 altars

TYPE OF ALTAR OFFERING TYPE

COMMENTS
*1 Two different verses present 2 different descriptions:
Ex20-21 talks about an EARTHEN altar for BURNT & PEACE
offerings. By contrast Ex27-02 and Ex40-29 mention that
the altar at the TEMPLE DOOR was made of wood and coated
with copper (And used for the daily BURNT & PEACE offerings)

A standard Biblical technique, which Rabbi Ishmael
called the technique of INFERENCE FROM CONTRADICTORY VERSES,
   is presented at http://www.RashiYomi.com/ri-14.htm
We outline there 5 methods of resolving contradiction.
One of these 5 methods is the method OF 2 ASPECTS.

In this case we assume that the COPPER-WOOD-EARTH are 3
   ASPECTS of this altar construction

-- the altar was made of WOOD
-- it was COATED with COPPER
-- it was FILLED with EARTH
Hence the two verses: Make me a COPPER ALTAR and Make
me an EARTHERN altar--the COPPER and EARTH are 2 ASPECTS

*2 According to these verses there was a wood-built altar
COATED with Gold that was placed before the curtain to
the holy of holies. This altar is called the GOLDEN ALTAR

This altar was used for MANDATORY
KETORETH but not VOLUNTARY KETORETH; it was also used on
the Day of atonement (For blood sprinklings).

In my opinion Rashi infers that the Biblical
phrase STRANGE KETORETH OFFERING means VOLUNTARY PERFUME
OFFERING from the incident in Lv10-01 where this phrase
is used. Thus Rashi used the method of OTHER VERSES

*3 The STONE altar was a special altar made only on
   entry to Israel.
