List of verses where objects are treated like people
VERSE OBJECT LAW (Usually applies to humans)
Ex20-25d STONES Dont expose nudity on STONE steps
Nu20-12b STONES STONES should listen to God
Dt12-02 TREES Destroy idolatrous TREES
Nu20-15a ANIMALS Kill ANIMAL who slept with person
Gn32-16a ANIMALS Speak discretely about modest animals*1
COMMENTS
*1 See LIST343L for an analysis of descriptions of the
5 animal pairs mentioned in Gn32-15:16

Notice the contrast of COARSENESS vs DISCRETION
- e.g. for goats the Torah COARSELY mentions
a 1:10 male:female ratio--

- for camels the Torah discretely mentions
the CAMELS and CHILDREN--
From this we infer that the CAMELS led a family
life--they mated one on one with one child.

The Torah treats these animals discretely by not
mentioning mating ratios but mentioning children

The implication for us is that we should speak
discretely about modest couples
