GOALS
=====
This module studies the ALIGNMENT method in Rashi. In this
method 2 different verses are found to be ALMOST the same.
The verses are lined up and the minor differences between
them function as footnotes illuminating the text.

TODAYS UNIT

on sacrifices.

ALIGNMENT OF TWO VERSES ON SHLAMIM

EXAMPLE 78: Dt12-27a

BACKGROUND
----------
Dt12-27 discusses how sacrifice vows must be brought to the
central temple in Jerusalem.

THE TEXT
--------
The verse has two halves and mentions how certain sacrifice
components should be brought on the altar etc The verse says
------------------------------------------------------------
And you shall bring your OLAH sacrifices, blood and flesh
on the Altar of God, but the blood of the Shlamim is spilled
on the Altar of God while the flesh is eaten
------------------------------------------------------------

THE RASHI
---------
Rashi uses this verse to contrast the difference between
the Olan and Shlamim offering. BOTH have their blood
placed on the altar. But the flesh of Shlamim is eaten
while the flesh of Olah is offered.
