In this series we review the Rashis on the word ALL.
Although there are 40 Rashis there are 4 simple rules.

RULE: The Hebrew word "ALL"(KL)indicates that there are no
exceptions and that what is being discussed should take place
in ALL circumstances---EVEN those you wouldn't ordinarily think
of.There are 4 methods by which the interpretation of ALL is
implemented.

ALL can indicate
(A) cases you wouldn't ordinarily think of
EXAMPLE:Gn06-12a "ALL Flesh corrupted"
        RASHI: EVEN Animals corrupted

(B) it can indicate that there are no exceptions or

(C) it can refer even to mixtures or

(D) it can emphasize not to exclude "obvious exceptions"

In this issue we continue the examples where ALL means EVEN.
In particular we continue those examples like the following
one which was already covered

>Nu20-29b "And they ALL saw Aarons death ..& they cried"
>RASHI: "They ALL cried"--even the women and children
(Rashi further explains that Aaron as a priest did social
work and therefore everyone mourned him while Moses who
was "the law" was not mourned by EVERYBODY)

EXAMPLE 9: Nu18-09c
-------------------
The verse is speaking about the rights of priests to eat
priestly gifts.

>Nu18-09c "ALL pure peole in your house can eat it"
>RASHI: "ALL ..can eat it"--including the women and children

NOTE: Rashi is supported by an explicit other verse Lv22:12-13
which states that female Priest members may eat certain priestly
gifts.

EXAMPLE 10: Nu18-09c
--------------------
The Biblical chapters are frequently introduced by a statement
of the form "And God spoke to Moses--speak to the Jews...."
The following alignment compactly exhibits the nuances in each
such introduction.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Lv01-02 Speak onto the Jews & tell them
Lv04-02 Speak onto the Jews as follows
Lv07-29 Speak onto the Jews as follows
Lv11-02 Speak onto the Jews as follows
Lv17-02 Speak onto Aaron& the Jews & tell them
Lv18-02 Speak onto the Jews & tell them
Lv19-02 Speak onto the WHOLE CONGRAGATION of Jews
                          *1 *2 *3
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Note how only in Lv19-02 which introduces a chapter that repeats
the 10 commandments and many other important commmandments
do we have the phrase THE WHOLE CONGREGATION.
Hence we have the following Rashis

>Lv19-02a "Speak onto the WHOLE CONGREGATION of Israel"
>RASHI: Because of the importance of this chapter it was not
only said to men but it was also said to_____________
        (Fill in--ANSWERS ON BOTTOM)

EXAMPLE 11: Lv17-12a
--------------------
>Lv17-12a "ALL souls from among you shouldn't eat blood"
>RASHI: The verse says "ALL souls" to make sure that the adults
prevent their ______________________(Fill in) from eating
        blood

------------------------------ANSWERS----------------------------
