Subject: Re: Source in Ani Ma'amin

Israel Rubin points out that the 13 > I believes< were not written by the
Rambam but rather are summaries of the Rambam's list.

In passing I note that the 13 stanzas of the popular synagogue song YIGDAL
correspond (in content) to these 13 Ani Mamins.

Does anyone know the history of this? Was this a poetic tribute to Rambam?
OR was Yigdal made so that it should not be so obvious that people were
reciting tenets of faith?

Who was the first person to explicitly note the YIGDAL-I-BELIEVE
correspondence? Who in fact did write YIGDAL and when did he live?
