We ask the following database query:
When does the Bible call God, Shadai.
The reader is encouraged to perform the query using a standard Biblical Konnkordance or search engine.
This database query yields the list below.
The list justifies the following Rashi inference:
The name of God, SHADAI refers to those situations where God used
immediate and great force.
The list below presents the results of the database query and shows examples.

| Immediate Show of God's Force
|
Ru01-20
| And she said unto them: 'Call me not Naomi, call me Marah;
for Shadai hath dealt very bitterly with me.
| Naomi immediately punished for forsaking the Jewish community
|
Nu24-04
| The saying of him who heareth the words of God, who seeth the vision of the Shadai , fallen down, yet with opened eyes:
| Bilam immediately punished for sexually abusing the Jews
|
Gn35-11
| I am God Shadai. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
| The City that Raped Dinah was immediately punished
|
Ex06-03
| and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as G-d Shadai, but by My name J-H-V-H I made Me not known to them.
| God to show redemption by slow development, something new.
|
We should clarify the nature of the above list.
Dinah was raped and immediately the city was destroyed. Naomi
left Israel in order not to help people in famine and was immediately
socially disgraced. Bilam suggested promiscuity and the Jews were
immediately punished. Bilam himself was immediately punished
in a war declared on him.
Moses wanted immediate deliverance. God patiently explained to him
that God showed immediacy to the Patriarchs. However to Moses God
was showing development. God redeemed the Jews in 10 plagues during
which time Pharoh had an opportunity to rebel even further. Thus the redemption
from Egypt was not a manifestation of God showing immediacy but rather
a manifestation of God showing slow development.
