VERSE: Dt01-15b

Rashi, following the Midrash Rabbah, aligns two verses

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Dt01-13 Bring for me people who are WISE, INTELLIGENT, WELL KNOWN
Dt01-15 And I took people who are WISE WELL KNOWN
                                          *1
-----------------------------------------------------------------

NOTES
-----
*1 Moses REQUESTED 3 attributes (WISE, ANALYTIC, WELL KNOWN)
but only FOUND 2 attributes (WISE and WELL KNOWN). Moses did
   not find ANALYTIC people

APPLICATION
-----------
The Rambam Laws of Courts Chapter 2 uses the above Rashi/Midrash
to justify the law
"Although oourt judges SHOULD possess ALL these traits
nevertheless if they only had SOME of them the court is
    valid"

Please see http://www.RashiYomi.Com/h5n25.htm for a complete
analysis of the Rashi vs Rambam on these laws.
