VERSE: Ex25-35a


The Candellabrah was 18 TFCHs high (Each TFCH is 4 inches)
Rashi describes its structure on Ex25-35a *1. Rav Hirsch very
simply describes its symbolism

*2      The 18 TFCH Candellabrah = The 1st 18 years of Life
*3      The Mnorah gave LIGHT    = EDUCATE the child for 18 years

Furthermore the candellabrah ornaments, BUD, FRUIT, FLOWER
correspond to the plant components BUD, FRUIT, FLOWER.
Each fruit component corresponds in function to
some aspect of education. Here is a rough guide

*4 BUD    = GATHERS nutrients   = GATHERING knowledge(Memorization)
*5 FRUIT  = PRODUCES NEW entity         = PRODUCE NEW thoughts(Analysis)
*6 FLOWER = gives SCENTS        = hunces and INTUITION

Here is the 18 TFCH menorah along with the symbolism for
education in each year and the corresponding grades in
pre-kindergarten

*1 The one extra theme in Rashi on this verse is a structural
comment about the Candellabrah. The verses say Ex25-34

        Ex25-34 & the Menorah had 4 buds with knobs....
        Ex25-35 AND there was a knob joining 2 shafts...

Rashi simply says that the word "AND" in Ex25-35 adds to the
previous verse. So Ex25-34 mentions "knobs" and there were
extra "knobs" in Ex25-35. The correspondence of each verse
to some part of the Candellabrah is compactly described above.
