VERSE: Ex31-15a


RULE: The Bible uses a DOUBLE WORD FORMATION (eg CLOUD OF
CLOUDS) when it wants to indicate the BEST or MOST
intense form of something. Here are some examples


EXAMPLE 1

*1 This (that the double root Y-R-K-R-K means the greenest
green) is the view of the Talmud and Rashi. Although the
Ibn Ezra in his commentary on this verse seems to disagree,
nevertheless, in the Ibn Ezras commentary on Ps45-3, Ibn
Ezra modifies his position.

As is shown in the main posting, Ibn Ezra simply
gave a list of double letter verbs which
did not seem to fit the Talmudic criterion of intensity; he was
asking for clarification not disagreeing. These other verbs are
explained in the main posting----for Example Songs1-6  would be
translated as "Don't stare at me because I am sunburned..."
The reddish-pink hues of the sunburnt person would correspond
to an intense dawn-like appearance (SChRChR(Sunburned)=Intense
Dawn(S-Ch-R)")
