BACKGROUND
----------
The phrase UNTIL THUS occurs only 5 times in the Bible.
What does it mean? Traditional explanations suggest it
means UNTIL NOW.

THE RASHI
---------
But Rashi suggests a novel interpretation. Dozens of important
prophecies begin with the keyword THUS*5. Hence, the word
THUS can acquire a new meaning and refer to prophecy.

THE LIST
--------
We present the 5 occurences of THUS as well as the prohpecy
that THUS refers to with the verse of the cross referenced
prophecy.

As can be seen THUS only refers to important
prohpecies such as the Messianic prophecies, the 10 plagues,
the promise of many children to Abraham, the dramatic
confrontation between the Prophets of God and the false
prophets of baal etc

Finally note that Rashi is being conceptual not literal. These
prophecies do not necessarily begin with the word THUS*6.
Rather they are fundamental and crucial prophecies.

*1 The reference is to the several prophecies where God
   promises Abraham that he will become a large nation
   Thus Gn22-05 would read that
   ------------------------------------------------------
   Abraham and Isaac walked to the sacrifice of Isaac
   until its completion when they realized that the
   prophecies of THUS WILL YOUR CHILDREN BE NUMEROUS
   will be fulfilled(That is they realized that Isaac
   need not be sacrificed)
   ------------------------------------------------------

*2 This verse where the Patriarch Jacob promises many children
   to Joseph is a famous blessing (since it promises children
   in times of adversity) and is traditionally cited by parents
   to their children.

*3 The reference is to the famous confrontation of Elijah:

   If God is the true god walk after him; and if the baal
   is the true god walk after him
   -------------------------------------------------------
   Elijah cursed Achav not to have rain until he repented

*4 Daniel of course was prophesying on the most famous of
   all prophecies -- the Messianic prophecy

        Isa37-33 Isa42-5  Jer22-03 Jer23-02 Jer24-05

*6 eg Both Gn13-16 and Gn15-05 promise Abraham many children.
   But the keyword THUS is only present in Gn15-05 not Gn13-16
