Gn30-29:30 uses a GENERAL-PARTICULAR style

- GENERAL You know how much I worked for you
- GENERAL You know how your flock were with me
- DETAILS The few flock you had grew into many

When the Bible uses the GENERAL-DETAIL style the emphasis is
on the DETAILS. Jacob emphasized the PRODUCTIVITY (the
few became many). He did not emphasize the work conditions
(eg he worked in cold and absorbed all losses). His goal
was to impress his boss that the boss should let him go
with good severance pay and the best argument for that
was the productivity he gave.
