Gods co-workers(=Ox=Moses) and the Jewish leadership
(=Ram=Levi) were united while the Jewish masses(Sheep)
were separate

*2 On Passover the forces of all 3 Patriarchs combine
The Jews lead the world (=Ox = Coworker with God);
the Jews lead each other in the Seder(Ram=Leader);
the Jews follow their leaders(Sheep=Follower)*10

*3 On the other holidays different factions of the
Jewish people represent different forces
- Some lead the nations (Like Joseph)=Coworker with God=Ox
- Some lead the Jew (Like Rabbis/Priests)=Leader=Ram
- Some just follow(Like the masses)=Follower=Sheep

*10 Again: Rashi and Rav Hirsch dont disagree but rather
complement each other

- Rav Hirsch explains the symbolism of the offerings
- Rashi explains why the word AND sometimes occur

One more item: Rashi actually says that
- Isaac is the Ram because of the Ram of the Akaydah
- Jacob is the Sheep because he was a shepard
- Abraham is the Ox because he served Oxen

But Rashi (as he sometimes does) was only giving nifty
examples so people could remember. The truth of the
matter is that

Abraham=Coworker with God leading the nations=Ox
Isaac  =Leader of Jacob/Esauv=Ram
Jacob  =Exile Jew--sheepish--follower

Instead of giving abstract symbolism Rashi simply
uses catchy examples. The main point however is
that Rashi explains AND and Rav Hirsch explains the
general SYMBOLISM.

Finally we understand why Rashi cited Rav Moshe
Hadarsham since this explanation refers to subtle
aligned VAVs.

*1 The alignment shows that the OX mentioned in Lv16-06 and Lv16-11
is the same Ox spoken about in Lv16-03 (Rashi: Lv16-06a)

*2 The alignment shows that the ATONEMENT mentioned in Lv16-06 and
Lv16-11 is the same ATONEMENT mentioned in Lv16-16. In other
words the OX atones for inadvertent/intentional impurifying
of the Temple*10 (Rashi: Lv16-06b and Lv16-11a)

*10 Rashi seems to derive that the Ox atones on BOTH the High Priests
family and on the Priests sins of impurities in the temple from
the repeated use of the phrase HE ATONES ON HIS HOUSE in both
Lv16-06 and Lv16-11.

However a much simpler and elegant way of taking the Rashi is
that Rashi uses the technique of OTHER VERSES---Lv16-16 explicitly
states that the OX and GOAT sin offering atone for
- Impurity-in-Temple sins of
- the whole Jewish people
So this includes sins of
- Priests---------Ox of High Priest
- Jews------------Goat offering of Nation
- High Priest-----Ox of high Priest

Note the novelty in this approach (of deriving this concept from
OTHER VERSES vs REPEATED PHRASES): We would interpret the offering
as atoning on both the High Priests sins as well as ordinary Priests
sins even if the phrase had not been repeated. The derivation
comes from the OTHER VERSE!!!

*1 As can be seen the CONFESSION procedure is
called PLEASE, CONFESS and ATONE*10
It is the procedure between the SUPPORT
and SLAUGHTER procedures.

*2 It is not our job (in this posting) to
fill in the missing cells in this table
But as an example we learn that the GUILT
OFFERING has SLAUGHTER from Lv07-02 Other
missing cells can be filled similarly

*10 It is not hard to explain why the various
terms--PLEASE, CONFESS, ATONE--are used.

- In a GUILT offering the person has actually
sinned (eg He refused to testify Lv05-01
or he stole (Nu05-07 = Lv05-23))

- In the HIGH- PRIEST- DAY- OF- ATONEMENT-
OFFERING the ATONEMENT is on possibly
inadvertent entrance into the Temple while
in a state of ritual impurity. Hence the
word ATONE is more appropriate than CONFESS

- In the UP offering there is no SIN per se...
Rather there is an OMISSION of a positive
commandment...therefore the person brings
an UP offering to become pleasing to God
again.
