One of Rashi's 10 major methods is the use of OTHER
VERSES to clarify existing verses. Rashi can use
OTHER VERSES to a) provide more details b) justify
citations and cross references and c) to infer meaning.

We call this the RASHI METHOD of OTHER VERSES and
the RASHI SUBMETHODS of FURTHER DETAILS, CITATIONS,
and INFERRED MEANING.

Both from the context and the OTHER VERSE we infer that
RATTLE HER means to ANNUL her vow so she need not keep it.

The meaning of the phrase HE HEARS IT is clarified by
an OTHER VERSE Nu30-08

Thus we infer from the OTHER VERSE that the
meaning of HEAR is HEAR & IS SILENT which is
a method of AFFIRMATION.

We call this the Rashi method of WORD MEANING.
Rashi will sometimes explain meaning by providing
a UNIFIED MEANING to a root.

I use a combined approach of RASHI and RADACK.
- The fundamental idea of Tet Vuv Resh and Tet Yud Resh is ROW
(Radack explicitly states this and cites alternate opinions)
- So a ROW-HOUSE would as Radack describes be a house that
- consists of ROWS OF SMOOTH STONES (instead of jagged log
cabins)
- Rashi elaborates on who uses such polished houses:
- Palaces and Government offices for Judges, princes,governors

One of Rashis 6 main goals is the explanation of words
similar to the way a dictionary explains words. When Rashi
explains words we say he is using the method of WORD
MEANINGS

Rashi had 10 vehicles by which to explain words. When Rashi
uses the SYNONYM submethod Rashi is not explaining the
meaning of words--indeed the meaning is already known--
rather Rashi is contrasting the nuances of a given word
to other words with almost similar meanings.

in the entire Bible. In Nu31-26 it is used
to describe SHEEP, CATTLE and HUMAN booty This
is also true throughout chapter Nu31. Clearly

SHVI-CAPTIVES
