========== VERSES CROSS REFERENCING TEMPLE ITEMS ==========

The 14 Rashis in the LIST below all comment on verses
mentioning TEMPLE items. In each case Rashi IDENTIFIES
WHICH items from the temple is cross referenced.

We have already identified 4 methods of cross reference
 in http://www.RashiYomi.Com/h9n17.htm.

 A cross reference
--can be LITERAL (word for word) & WITHOUT Ambiguity
--can be LITERAL but WITH OTHER POSSIBILITIES
--can be ONE TO ONE or ONE to MANY

Examples are presented in this LIST and further
elaborated on in the footnotes. Note that the columns
ITEM and REFERS-TO in this list cite ACTUAL BIBLICAL
LANGUAGE. Thus the reader can see when words are
 identical.

NOTES
=====
*1 This cross reference is SIMPLE. The verses in Numbers
and Ex35 say TEMPLE or TEMPLE CURTAINS and this is
the EXACT SAME PHRASE used in Ex26. FUrthermore there
are no other items called temple. Hence the cross reference
   is clear and unambiguous.

Rashi further fills in and mentions that the MISHKAN
   was made of 10 CURTAINS.

*2 I have divided Ex26-01:14 into 3 paragraphs and Ex26-31:35
into 2 paragraphs based on the repeated KEYWORD: MAKE
   --MAKE a MISHKAN Ex26-01:06
   --MAKE a TENT Ex26-07:13
   --MAKE a COVER Ex26-14:14
   --MAKE a PAROCETH Ex26-31:35
   --MAKE a DOOR Ex26-36:36
For further examples of the use of KEYWORDS to indicate
   paragraphs see http://www.RashiYomi.Com/ex18-01d.htm

*3 Again this cross reference is SIMPLE. The word
(MEETING)TENT occuring in Ex35 and Nu is IDENTICAL with
the word TENT occuring in Ex26. There are no other
references to TENT. Hence the cross reference is
   clear and unambiguous.

Rashi further fills in the cross reference and informs
us that the TENT was made of GOAT SKINS.

*4 This cross reference is ONE TO MANY. First, the temple
had TWO COVERINGS: A RED RAM SKIN and a UNICORN SKIN
(Ex26-14). Nu04-25 mentions BOTH these coverings
while by contrast Nu03-25 just mentions THE COVERING.
Hence we are forced to associate THE COVERING of
Nu03-25 as cross referencing BOTH COVERINGS.

*5 This is an example of a POTENTIALLY AMBIGUOUS cross
reference. The word MASACH (meaning covering) refers
   to at least 3 items:
--the PAROCETH (Dividing the holies and holy of holies)
--the TEMPLE DOOR CURTAIN (Entrance to Candellabrah room)
--the COURTYARD DOOR (Entrance to courtyard)

Sometimes an extra link word clarifies the cross reference
by making it unique. Thus the HOLY OF HOLY DOOR is called
THE MASACH PAROCETH while no other door is called PAROCETH.
Such a lineup of phrases enables unique cross reference.
It however involves a little extra effort. By contrast,
the word DOOR can refer BOTH to the TENT DOOR(Ex35-15)
   and COURTYARD DOOR(Nu04-26)

Thus the word PAROCETH MASACH clearly refers to the PAROCETH.
However in Nu03-31 the word MASACH occurs by itself! Which
of the 3 MASACHs does it refer to?

Thus the word PAROCETH MASACH clearly refers to the PAROCETH.
However in Nu03-31 the word MASACH occurs by itself! Which
of the 3 MASACHs does it refer to?

We can answer this by reviewing OTHER VERSES and CONTEXT.
Quite simply KEHATH is defined in Nu03-31
as dealing with ALL HOLY TEMPLE ITEMS like the
candellabrah, table etc. A similar statement is made
in Nu04-04. But Nu04-05 clearly states that KEHATH
starts his work by taking down the PAROCETH MASACH.
Since the PAROCETH is in the same room as the table,
candellabrah etc this has a proper "ring" to it.

Thus using the CONTENT of Kehaths work as well as using
the explicit reference in Nu04-05 I conclude that MASACH
   refers to the PAROCETH.
