Subject: Re: Question on living arrangements

Ira Haber, in Torah Forum, Vol 1 number 43, asks the proper response to
relatives/friends who invite one over but are living in sin.

Let me elaborate on his question. Clearly, one the one hand we wish to
protest the living in sin. On the other hand we wish to maintain ties and
possibly bring them back.

So the real question is: "Is there a way to meet both these goals".

I believe that one such approach might be to e.g. accept their invitation
but invite them out to a (Kosher) restaurant at ones own expense.

Thus we have refusal to enter their apartment, socializing with them, and a
demonstration of caring (by picking up the bill). Various modifications of
this solution are also possible.
