Subject: Re: Seven Noachide Laws

QUESTION: What are the 7 Laws of Noach that all Non-Jews must follow.

ANSWER:
Another poster gave an excellent but succinct list: The prohibitions of
1) Idolatry 2) Murder 3) adultery 4) Theft 5) Eating an organ from a live
animal; 6) blasphemy. THere is also an obligation to set up courts.
I just wanted to add a few points. 1st a good source is Rambam, Kings, Chap 9
Second I would like to point out how broad certain laws are

The prohibition of THEFT includes, armed robbery, theft, withholding a
workers wages, and even rape (The rapist is stealing use of the women's body).

The prohibition of ADULTERY includes homosexuality, bestiality, adultery,
incest with ones mother or fathers wife and certain types of sisters.

There is a controversy among the latter authorities on the obligation to
make COURTS---some say that it suffices if the courts judge according to
the civil/tort and felony laws of the country. Other opinions hold that
Noachide monetary and Tort law should follow Jewish law.
