========= SHIN in a root letter means THAT =====================

BACKGROUND
----------
We have explained numerous times that Rashi believed that
- Hebrew comes from 3 letter roots that are conjugated
- However the meaning of each 3 letter root can be derived
  by breaking the 3 letter root into a 1 and 2 letter root
In todays posting we show that
------------------------------------
  THE ROOT LETTER SHIN: means THAT
------------------------------------
just as the prefix letter SHIN means THAT

REFERENCES
----------
This 2 letter root theory was first expounded by Rashi
and later developed by Rabbi Hirsch. Further examples
can be found linked to http://www.Rashiyomi.Com/words.htm

THE TEXT
--------
Rashi explains the 3 words
- MISHAR  = Dry goods
- SGR     = Animal Births
- ShayGal = Stripper

THE LIST
--------
The LIST gives about a dozen examples of roots and the
derivation of their meaning. In deriving meaning we use
the assumption that SHIN means THAT. Some of the derivations
are obvious, others are punchy, while others may appear a
bit contrived. As usual we strive for a spectrum so that the
reader can form their own opinion.

================================================================
ROOT MEANING EXPLANATION OF MEANING USING: Shin=That
=====  =======   ===============================================
SGV Lofty THAT (Shin) which is HIGH (Gvh) *1
SMT Jostled THAT (SHIN) which SHAKES (MOT) *1
SGL Stripper THOSE (SHIN) which UNCOVER(GLH) *2
STR Police THOSE (SHIN) which keep in LINE (Tur) *2
SHAL Ask THAT (shin) which will be TO ME (Elay)
SAAR City Gate THAT (Shin) which is by the CITY(IR)
SThK Silence THAT (SHIN) which is PIKED UP (Tka)*3
SFR Elegant THAT (Shin) which is FRUIT LIKE (Pri)
SHAYR Dry Goods THAT (Shin) which is PLUCKED (Arh)
SCL Cluster THAT (SHIN) which is COMPLETE (Cll)*4
SGR Birth THAT (Shin) which is (now a) SOJOURNER*5

NOTES
=====
*1 In these examples the ROOT with and without SHIN mean almost
   the same thing (E.g. GVH = SGV = HIGH)

*2 Some of these are in agreement with English Idioms.
   e.g A STRIPPER is an UNCOVERER, a POLICEMAN keeps in LINE etc

*3 Like in English: Silence is symbolically depicted as stuffing
   (PIKING) the talkers mouth

*4 SCHOL means a GRAPE CLUSTER -- that is a grape branch THAT
   IS (SHIN) COMPLETE IN GRAPHES (CLL)

*5 - Before birth: the animal was in the womb and secure
   - After birth: the animal is an alien or sojourner
   Hence SGR refers to (ANIMAL) BIRTH.
