VERSE: Ex01-20a

RULE: There are 3 cases of punctuation of Hebrew verbs
based on (a) the letters of the verb and (b) the mode
of conjugation. Here are the cases and rules with examples*1

EXAMPLES:
---------
(1):a)A verb whose 3rd letter is Hay;b)in the Causative mode
---------------------------------------------------------------
 Then the YUD is punctuated with a TZARAY. For example
 VaY-ay-Tiv{LIST} i.e. He caused it to be GOOD FOR THEM

(2):a)A verb whose 3rd letter is Hay;b)in the active mode
------------------------------------------------------------
 Then the YUD is punctuated with a CHIRIK. For example,
 VaY-ee-Tav ie It was GOOD in his eyes

(3):a)A verb whose 1st letter is yud;b) in the Active Mode
-------------------------------------------------------------
 Then the YUD is punctuated with a TZARAY. For example,
 VaY-ay-Lech ie he walked.
