that one cannot whimsically apply symbolic methods. Rather
the Biblical text must demand or require the use of symbolism.

To Properly understand this Rashi we must
first understand that Prophetic Visions are
communicated in SYMBOLIC form. The SYMBOLIC ITEM
very often symbolizes its FUNCTION or ATTRIBUTE

*3 Ezekiel was told to EAT a book of LAMENTATIONS and TRAGEDIES
   This mean that the prophecies of LAMENTATIONS and TRAGEDIES
   were suppose to be a part of him

*4 The Hebrew word for BRANCH and TRIBE are the same. Recall that
   each TRIBE deposited one BRANCH but only Aaron's BRANCH
   blossomed. This symbolized that AARON was the true PRIESTHOOD
   but the other BRANCHES=TRIBES were DEAD (No blossoming)

*5 THORNs are known for the PRICKLING PAIN they cause. God's
   appearance AMIDST THE THORNS symbolizes that God dwells
   with the Jewish people in their SUFFERING.
