VERSE: Gn47-30a

RULE:
*The Hebrew word Sh-Ch-V means to LIE.
*A derived meaning is TO DIE (since the dead person can't stand).
*However TO LIE nevers means burial.

The clearest proof that TO LIE does not mean burial comes
from 1Kings2-10 "..and I will LIE and be BURIED"...so
clearly, LIE means DEATH, not BURIAL.

In the examples below LIE means DEATH.

EXAMPLES
--------
(1) 1Kings11-2, Death of David
(2) 2Sam7-12, Death of David
(3) Job 3-13, Death of Job
(4) 2Kings14-22, Death of a king
(5) 1Kings1-21, Death of a king
(6) 1Kings2-10, Death of David
(7) 2Chr9-31 Death of kings

APPLICATION
-----------
*1 So the translation of Gn47-30a would be

"Do me a true favor, don't bury me in Egypt, because
I am dying like my parents. Take me up from Egypt and
    bury me at their gravesite"
