------------------------------------------------------------
VERSE: Gn48-02a
RULE: There is nothing bothersome in the verse.
Jacob (the father) bowing to Joseph (the son but
Vice King) Rashi sees this as part of a typical
pattern that ALL Kings should be given respect,
(Even if they are wicked)
EXAMPLES
--------
PERSON KING TEXT WHERE THEY SHOWED RESPECT
------ --------- ------------------------------
(1) Jacob To Joseph Gn48-02
(2) Moses To Pharoh Ex11-08 *1
(3) Elijah To Achav 1Kings18-46
NOTES:
-----
*1 The point behind Ex11-08 is that in Ex12-30 Pharoh himself
WITHOUT any of his servants came down to Moses. But nevertheless
Moses showed him respect in Ex11-08 by saying
These SERVANTS of yours will come down.
In other words he criticized PHAROH'S SERVANTS not
PHAROH himself, apparently to show him respect
