VERSE: Lv07-30a

RASHIS COVERED: Lv07-30a Lv10-15b Lv09-20a Lv07-30c

======================== Lv07-30a ==============================

SUCCINCT SUMMARY
----------------
Rashi frequently makes powerful inferences from the alignment
of ALMOST similar verses. The minor variations between these
almost similar verses suggests nuances and differences or
even meaning. We call this the Rashi rule of ALIGNMENT
When Rashi identifies two cases from the ALIGNMENT we call
this the Rashi sub-method of TWO CASES

EXAMPLE
-------
The following three verses describe 3 distinct
stages in the PEACE offering procedure
--------------------------------------------------------
VERSE Which Procedure Order of FAT/BREAST On Top Who
-------- --------------- -------------------------------------------
Lv07-30a Bring Fat ON Breast Fat Owner
Lv10-15b WAIVE/OSCILLATE Breast ON Fat Breast Waiving Priest
Lv09-20a OFFER Fat ON Breast Fat Offering Priest
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Rashi
------------------------------------------------------
As can be clearly seen from the alternating
FAT ON BREAST vs BREAST ON FAT, three different
people are involved and each one holds differently
- the OWNER brings the FAT of the animal ON the BREAST
(So the FAT is above and the BREAST is below)
- the 1st PRIEST performs the WAIVING ceremony
with the Breast ON TOP on the FAT on bottom
The Waiving priest delivers to the Offering priest
- The offering priest has the FAT on top ON the
  breast on bottom
-----------------------------------------------------

LIST314i below summarizes these arguments.

------------------------- LONGER FOOTNOTES ----------------

*10 The Talmud (Menacoth 62a) explains that the reason
for requiring an owner and two priests is because
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
the honor of the king is in multitude performance
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

It is therefore conceivable that the above list
is simply a rabbinic interpretation of the alignment
(not biblical) imposed to beautify the offering
    procedure.

If this is so we actually have another Rashi rule--
the rule of LIST ORDERINGS which states as follows
    - if throughout the Bible ONE SEQUENCE is used then
the first is the most important, the 2nd is 2nd
    important etc

    - if however the Bible uses different sequence
orders then they are all equally important.

I would come to the conclusion that the BREAST
and FAT have alternating orders, NOT to indicate
multiple owners but rather to indicate that they
are equally important in the offering procedure.

However the Talmudic Rabbis added this interpretation
of multiple people to implement the verse that
multitudes indicate the honor of the King.

*11 The Talmud and Rashi similarly give operational
details on the interchange between the owner and priest
    ----------------------------------------------------
First the owner comes with the fat on his hands and
the breast on the fat. The priest places his hands
underneath the owners hands and waives (so that
relative to the priests hands the breasts are first
    and then the fat
    ----------------------------------------------------

As indicated this is simply an operational interpretation
of how these heavy objects were brought and waived.
The main focus in the talmud and Rashi is on the
ALIGNMENT of the phrases BREAST ON FAT vs
    FAT ON BREAST.
