SUCCINCT SUMMARY
----------------
One of Rashis 6 main goals was to explain meaning
the same way the dictionary explains meaning. Rashi
had a variety of vehicles to explain meaning. One
method was to explore UNIFYING THEMES to diverse
meanings of a central root
EXAMPLE--The Root Cheth-Tzade-Resh
----------------------------------
The basic unifying theme is the VILLAGE. From
this using the technique of METONOMY (related
items) we obtain the meanings
- TRUMPETS - used to gather the VILLAGE people
- HERBS - Grass growing wildly by villages
- YARDS - The YARD is the VILLAGE of the HOUSE
(That is the YARD-HOUSE and VILLAGE-METROPOLIS
have the same appearance and relationship)

======== ======= =======================================
Lv25-31a Village The Basic unifying theme*1
2C05-13 Trumpet Used to gather the village people*2
Nu11-05e Herbs Herbs grow naturally in villages*3
Ez10-05 Yard Metropolis:Village::House:Yard
NOTES
-----
*1 The etymology of ChTZR seems to be from the
root TzRR (To BUNDLE). A Village is a collection
of people BUNDLED together (even though there is
no surrounding wall to the city)
*2 This PERCEPTION of Trumpets -- as instruments used to
gather the village people -- is explicitly mentioned
at Nu10-01:10
*3 In Nu11-05e ChaTziR seems to refer to a HERB used
to spice up food. In Is44-04 and other verses it
seems to refer generally to HERBS/GRASS growing
wildly. Thus we might have 2 meanings here. At
any rate the translation VILLAGE-HERBS to refer
to naturally growing items in villages seems
accurate
