The reason this method is powerful is because people frequently seek to find a Rashi reason in the VERSE they are studying without realizing that the simple reason for Rashi lies in an other explicit verse. THE 6 METHODS ------------- We have outlined 6 methods of using OTHER VERSES - DIRECT CITATIONS (as it says...) - Cross referencing procedures(do this like that) - Adding details #1): a FEW Jews came to Egypt;#2:70 Jews came) - Contradictory verses: (2 verses say different things) - Several Multiple proofs - Explaining a word meaning THE TEXT We align Lv04-26 and Lv04-31 -------- Lv04-26 GOAT SIN OFFERING fat is like fat peace offer Lv04-31 SHEEP SIN OFFERING fat is like fat of SHEEP peace offer THE RASHI --------- Notice how Lv04-31 emphasizes the animal (SHEEP) while Lv04-26 does not. Rashi therefore explains that Lv04-26 which discusses the GOAT SIN OFFERING is like the GOAT PEACE OFFERING while Lv04-31 which discusses the SHEEP GOAT OFFERING is like the SHEEP PEACE OFFERING.
